Help Support Your
    Local Pro Sports Chaplain

My name is Lorne Korol. Thank you for taking the time to consider partnering with me. I serve as the Pro Chaplain for the Winnipeg Goldeyes Baseball Club (entering my eighth season) and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Football Club (entering my second season) and this fall/winter I will begin serving as the Chaplain for the Manitoba Moose Hockey Club.

My vision is to bring God to the athletes, not only to win over the lost, but also to help Christian players experience the power of the Holy Spirit as they help their fellow teammates discover Jesus.  These athletes in turn use their platform to influence and impact our community for Christ.

I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve as an Associate Staff for Power To Change (formerly Campus Crusade For Christ) with their Athletes In Action Ministry. I have gone through the Power To Change training and have joined their staff.  I am now able to raise financial support to allow me to reach my goals and to serve as a full-time staff member.

I currently deliver a chapel program for the Winnipeg Goldeyes Baseball Club each weekend they are home during the summer (May to September). I also deliver a weekly bible study and game day chapel program with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Football Club each week of their season (June to November). In addition, the CFL Pro Ministry requires that I meet with the players outside of chapel and bible study where possible to develop relationships. This sums up my current duties for Athletes In Action. In addition, this fall/winter I look forward to developing and delivering a ministry program with the Manitoba Moose Hockey Club.

My ultimate goal is to serve this ministry in a full-time capacity I would then be able to greatly expand my role with the Goldeyes, Bombers and the Moose. I would also like to develop sports ministry/chapel programs in amateur sport. Currently there is very little sports ministry activity in amateur sports in Manitoba.  My heart is to reach these young athletes with the good news of our Lord. I feel that God has prepared me to reach these athletes as I have an extensive network at the local, provincial and national levels that has developed over my twenty plus years working in amateur sport.

I’d really appreciate the opportunity to share in more detail what the organization is all about, some of the significant things God is doing through this ministry, what my role is, and some ways you could become involved with me as a part of my prayer and financial partnership team.

Please contact me to discuss this further.  I look forward to speaking with you!  Thank you for your prayerful consideration.

God Bless,

Lorne Korol
